  • Standing in the Breach:

The following is what transpired in my soul today after Holy Communion. Our Lord told me to receive Him in the Sacred Host as King, and to offer Him my soul for His dominion. He then urged me to present myself before Him in the name of our nation, as an ambassador offering Him my Communion in the spirit of reparation for the crimes of which our nation is guilty, particularly those against the Divine Majesty, and those against holy Church.
Having received this Divine King, I earnestly laid before Him the spiritual needs of our country. Then He, communicating Himself further to me, told me that He entrusted the country of France to my care, appointing me as its ambassador, so that I could negotiate about terms of peace with Him. He said that to acquit myself of this important post, I must in great humility remain at His feet in the Most Blessed Sacrament, praying for our country and for the establishment of the Work of Reparation.
He next instructed me to examine seriously the weighty role an ambassador must fulfill, warning me to remember that when such an ambassador leaves a country, it is the signal for war, and that therefore I must not voluntarily retire from His presence in the Blessed Sacrament, but at least in spirit remain there in the name of France.
I, therefore, answered Him by saying, “My God, I have given myself entirely to you for the accomplishment of Your designs. Do in me as You will.” Accepting the obligations which God had now imposed on me I begged Him to make me worthy of His designs or, better still, to accomplish Himself His Will within me.
As for this adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, for several days now, our Lord keeps me so united to Him in the Eucharist, that even on leaving the choir to attend to my various duties, I am in spirit uninterruptedly at the foot of the altar where I leave my heart. Thus, no matter in which part of the house I find myself, I am always in sight of Him, keeping Him company. Such is the interior exercise which our Lord asks of me, for it is His Will that I remain ever before the Blessed Sacrament, in the name of our country, praying for it continuously.
The Golden Arrow, the Revelations of Sr. Mary of St. Peter p. 139-14

Reflection: Sister Marie de St. Pierre received many of her mystical revelations immediately after receiving our King of Kings in Holy Communion. When our blessed time is upon us to receive Him in the Communion line, let us take that precious moment (that we have absolutely no guarantee will ever be repeated) to respond to the words of the priest who proclaims, “The Body of Christ,” with the “Amen” of both our lips and our eyes, by intentionally fixing our gaze and adoring the hidden Face of Jesus in the Sacred Host as the priest presents our Lord to us. Let us never forget the words of St. Mother Theresa of Calcutta (my paraphrase), “Let us always receive Jesus as if this is our first Holy Communion, our only Holy Communion, and our last Holy Communion.” Those sacred few minutes back in the pews are a sure call to reverence, doing our utmost to quiet down our hearts & minds to listen to whatever our King wishes to impart to us: “Speak Lord, for Your servant is listening”. We can take Sr. Marie de St. Pierre as our model, offering our souls for His dominion, that He may accomplish His Divine Will in us, and in reparation for the manifold crimes for which our nation is guilty. By today’s revelation, we cannot fail to see that these crimes by individual countries are grave in the eyes of our Lord. In the Catechism of the Catholic Church para. 2240 makes reference to the words of the Apostle Paul who “exhorts us to offer prayers and thanksgiving for kings and all who exercise authority, “that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way.” This is under the prescriptions for obeying the 4th Commandment. We are therefore on the hook to pray for our leaders to stop offending our Lord’s Divine Majesty & Holy Mother Church, to restore our country to the culture of life and to a nation of peace, to be the leaders after our Lord’s own Heart! Let us strive to form the habit of emulating the piety of Sr. Marie to keep our Lord company in our souls not only after Holy Communion, but also throughout the day, often calling to our mind’s eye, the hidden Face of our King in the Sacred Host, so that we remain united to Him spiritually, listening for His still small voice in our hearts beckoning us to offer prayers of reparation according to His will.

  • When I was reading this morning’s reading from Divine Intimacy by Fr. Gabriel of St. Mary Magdalen, I received this beautiful inspiration of how the Church is like a garden. Our souls are planted in the soil of the Church when we are baptized. The Church and the sacraments are the nutrients which help our souls spring forth into life. The radiant Face of Christ looking down upon His garden casts forth its glorious heat and brilliant light into our souls.

The world on the other hand, seemingly run by the prince of darkness, comes along and tries to spoil the soil in the garden. He tempts our poor souls to flee the true garden to his false garden, which although may appear on the surface attractive, is full of nasty chemicals which coat our souls with filthy grime and disease. The Lord’s glorious Face can no longer shine through them and penetrate the grotesque covering which our souls have allowed to be covered in, and caused them to be distorted and disfigured in their growth.

Thus, our souls must return to the protection of the Church and receive the nutrients of Confession to clean off the filth. Once again allowing the brilliant warming glow of our Lord’s Countenance to penetrate and promote their growth. This must be a continuous process of renewal until our souls reach the maturity of growth to be completely in union with the Lord, and ready to be harvested and gain entrance into His most glorious Banquet which awaits us, where we are totally consumed by the Lord to become one with Him.

the little Pilgrim of His Holy Face

  • “Our amiable and divine Saviour,” said she,” permitted me to hear his lamentations over his love, unknown in the most holy Sacrament of the altar. He most happily united my heart and my mind at his feet, that I might remain with him in his abandonment, adoring his most Holy Face, concealed under the sacramental veils. Verily, it is through this august sacrament, that Jesus our Saviour wishes to communicate to souls the virtue of his most Holy Face. He has again promised me to imprint his divine features on the souls of those who honor him”.

In presenting anew to the sister the mystery of his Holy Face, Our Lord enlightened her by a conception which, as she expressed it, disclosed a “beautiful horizon“ on Reparation for Blasphemy, by manifesting the affinity existing between his most Holy Name and his most Holy Face. “Our Lord,” said she, “by the aid of a comparison as simple as just, permitted me to comprehend how the wicked by their blasphemy attack his adorable Face, and how the faithful glorify it by the homage of praise rendered his Name and his person.”

“The merit of an individual lies in his character, but the glory of his reputation rests on his name.”

“The Holy Name of God expresses the Divinity, and contains all the perfections of the Creator; it follows, therefore, that the blasphemers of this Sacred Name insult God directly. Let us recall the words of Jesus: “I am in my Father and my Father in me.” (St. John.) Jesus became man by the Incarnation; it is he who has suffered in his adorable Face all the outrages committed by the blasphemers of the Name of his Father. Our Lord has manifested to me, that there is something mysterious on the face of an honorable man, who has suffered contumely; his name and his face are particularly allied. Observe a man distinguished by his name and by his merits, in the presence of his enemies; these raise not the hand against him, but overwhelm him with injurious epithets, instead of the honorable titles which are his due, scoffing at him and mocking him.”

“Again, notice the expression of his face, would you not suppose that all the derisive language of his enemies was imprinted thereon, causing him to suffer a martyrdom? Behold that countenance covered with shame and confusion; he could support the most cruel pains, the most excruciating tortures without flinching; but the loss of his reputation, of his good name, this is unsupportable, he can no longer control his emotions, which are soon depicted on his countenance. Such is a feeble portrait of the Divine Face of Our Lord contemned by blasphemers.”

“Now let us represent to ourselves this man once more, but in the presence of his friends, who being apprised of the insults he has received, eagerly present themselves to sympathize with him, offering the respect due to the greatness of his name. Shall we not then read in his countenance the consolation which these sympathies afford him? His brow again bespeaks peace, and his features become radiant with joy; happiness beams, from his eyes, and the smile of gladness is on his lips; loving friends have soothed that face outraged by enemies; opprobrium is forgotten, peace and happiness reign supreme. We can see in this feeble image, that which the friends of Jesus perform in the Work of Reparation. The glory which they render his Name encircles his august brow, and is portrayed on his most Holy Face in the adorable Sacrament of the altar. Reverend mother, this comparison which Our Lord has given me, has greatly enlightened me. I now see clearly that blasphemers insult the Face of Our Lord, and that reparators rejoice and glorify it. I have never before had occasion to make this remark, that the face of man is the seat on which is enthroned either glory or ignominy. Therefore, I shall apply myself anew to honor the Name and the most Holy Face of Jesus, who has so touchingly invited me to render him this service.” P. 302-305 Life of Sister Mary St. Peter Carmelite of Tours M Labbe Janvier

When our Lord disclosed to Sr. Marie de St. Pierre with a lonely sigh, that His love in the most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar was not appreciated because of the lack of faith among Christians, this is reminiscent of at least two circumstances in the Holy Gospels where His love was similarly not returned by His own people:

    1. When He journeyed back into His own country (or town), those who knew His family “were scandalized in his regard.  But Jesus said to them:  A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country and in his own house.  And he wrought not many miracles there, because of their unbelief.”  St. Matthew 14:57-58, and
    2. On the day on which we commemorate Palm Sunday and Jesus drew near to Jerusalem, “seeing the city, he wept over it saying:  If thou also hadst known, and that in this thy day, the things that are to thy peace:  but now they are hidden from thy eyes.”  St. Luke 19: 41-42

In our day & time, we have the golden opportunity within a Holy Hour to adore Jesus with our faces beholding His Holy Face. We can in silence show our love for Him, and make reparation for both the lack of faith and apathy amongst His children towards His Real Presence in the Eucharist.  Let us endeavour to make it a priority to visit Him and spend time with Him.  With His promise to Sr. Marie de St. Pierre on January 21, 1847 that He would, “imprint His Divine Likeness upon the souls of those who honor the features of His Face,” (the Golden Arrow, p. 187), the sacrifice of a little of our time is a pittance in comparison with the available blessedness which can be gained in our souls.

Also, in the last two remaining weeks of January (the month dedicated to His Holy Name), we still have the opportunity to adore the Admirable Name of God which is above every name through prayers such as the “Twenty-four Acts of Reparation,” and the “Crown to the Glory of the Holy Name of God,” both composed by Sr. Marie de St. Pierre.  They are listed for your downloading pleasure in the link “Prayers of the Holy Face” here on our website.

  • January is the month of the Holy Name of Jesus so as the world continues to spiral into darkness and completely ridiculously insane immorality we must ever boldly proclaim His Most Holy name Jesus. “Every tongue confess and every knee shall bow at the name of Jesus”. The honor and glory of a person is in his name and there is no name in the world which has greater honor, power and glory then the name of Jesus. it is no wonder then that the devil and his minions continuously provoke mankind to blasphemy. Therefore ever more we must proclaim the Holy Face Devotion to make reparation for this blasphemy. There is no greater devotion to atone for these sins then this beautiful devotion as it was Jesus Himself that made this known to Sister Marie De Saint Pierre . He made known to me that He desired to see the Holy Face offered as the exterior object of adoration to all his children who would be associated in the Work of Reparation for Blasphemy. The Lord then declared “that the gift of His adorable Countenance which he presented to me on that day was, next to the sacraments, the greatest gift He could bestow on me.”(1) The prayers of this devotion are so incredibly beautiful and powerful bringing glory to God’s Holy Name and appeasing God the Eternal Father’s anger so much so that gracious he promised many miracles and the conversion of many sinners. So let us go forth this year with haste and spread the devotion to the ends of the earth giving praise glory and honor to the Holy name of God and his only Son Jesus. Most admirable is his Holy Name. So if you haven’t already started this devotion we urge you today to begin. For information on prayers go to our prayer page on the main menu. God Bless you all!

    [1] Revelation Oct 27 1845 , The Golden Arrow

  • Revelation of December 21, 1846 -

Words of Sr. Marie de St. Pierre from The Golden Arrow p. 183 – p. 185

It is hardly in my power to explain what transpired within me during the last fifteen days as our Lord poured out upon this my miserable soul torrents of precious graces. This Divine Director of my soul spoke to me as follows:

My daughter, surrender yourself more completely to My guidance, and endeavor to have more simplicity for I Myself want to impart to you true nourishment for your soul. Your repeated fears about being deceived, as also your uneasiness and frequent disquietude, prevent Me from acting in you as freely as I desire.”

I then confessed that to be my fault and our Lord hastened to wield a new power over me by disclosing to me several wonderful secrets of His infinite mercy.

Another day our Lord showed me the multitude of souls that were continually falling into hell, and He invited me in a most touching manner to help these poor sinners. He pointed out to me in particular that Religious have a most strict obligation towards these poor, blind souls who precipitate themselves into the eternal abyss, and that if other charitable souls would ask grace and mercy for these blinded ones, God’s mercifulness would open their eyes.

Our Saviour also said to me that if He would require rich people to render Him a strict account to show whether they really helped the poor with the surplus temporal wealth He had entrusted to them, with what greater severity would He not demand an account from a Carmelite, who as a Religious was rich to overflowing with the wealth of her celestial Spouse. He said that such a Religious would be compelled to show what use she had made of these treasures to bring about the salvation of other immortal souls. Our Lord added:

My daughter, I give you My Face and My Heart. I give you My Blood, and I open to you My Wounds. Draw from these and pour out their spiritual riches on others. Buy without money! My Blood is the price for souls! Oh, how painful it is to My Heart to see remedies, which have cost Me so dearly, scorned! Ask of My Father as many souls as the number of the drops of Blood that I shed in My Passion!”

On another day our Lord showed me His Holy Cross, saying that He had given birth to all His children on this bed of pain. Then He made me understand that in carrying the Cross for love of Him, and through prayers, I would obtain eternal life for those who were dead to grace, and whose resurrection He desired so ardently. Oh, what yearnings I see in the Heart of Jesus for the salvation of sinners!

On still another day our Lord placed my soul at the brink of Eternity, or rather at the gate of time, that I might help sinners during their last agony in that dreadful journey from Time to Eternity.

Finally, our Lord gave me a vision in which I saw a mysterious wall protecting our nation from the darts of Divine Justice. Our Lord told me that this wall which reached to heaven was the special daily devotion which I offered for the needs of our nation, undoubtedly joined to the prayers and merits which many pious souls offered to God for the same intention. This devotion consists in reciting one hundred times each day a prayer wherein the Holy Face of our Lord is offered to his Eternal Father in honor of all the Sacred Mysteries of the Saviour’s life and death to implore the salvation of our country. Our Lord told me that He gave me this vision to encourage me to persevere.

What a beautiful and rich revelation! What can we garnish from it as we approach so very close to the Nativity of our Lord? I offer to you some points of reflection and consideration:

    1. There is such great comfort in learning that the soul of this pious Carmelite was often full of fear & noisy on the inside. When our Lord called her out on that, she hastened to confess it to Him, and He quickly rewarded her with His merciful secrets. What an encouragement to have the same prompt recourse to the Lord, begging Him to silence the “storms” in our heart, especially during these dwindling days of Advent when busy-ness seems unavoidable. Let us be intentional about spending quiet time in Adoration & prayer with our King, preparing room for Him in our “busy inn,” otherwise we will miss the boat, getting lost in never ending tasks and preparations.  Let us not let another Christmas come and go without reflecting on the incomparable gift of His Incarnation & Birth.
    2. Fr. Lawrence Carney speaks about the vision our Lord gave to Sr. Marie about the multitude of souls falling into hell to be like snowflakes – great imagery for us in December who live in Canada & in the northern US! At this joyful time of year, let us not forget the necessity of praying for the souls of those in our family and amongst our friends, who are in need of conversions/reversions (our own included!). How important it is for us to enter into our daily Holy Rosary prayers with heartfelt fervency & persevere in our Holy Face Devotions, particularly on Tuesdays, both of which our Blessed Mother and our Lord promise conversions. These necessary prayers do not take holidays! Take note of what our Lord promised in this revelation, if charitable souls would ask grace and mercy for blinded souls – that His mercy would open their eyes!! That is a Christmas present that we surely want for all of our loved ones!
    3. Also, take special note of the efficacy that our Lord places on calling upon His Heart, His Face, His Wounds, and His Blood as remedies for these conversions! Both Sr. Marie de St. Pierre and St. Therese of the Child Jesus and of the Holy Face had deep devotions to our Lord’s Holy Face and His Precious Blood. Our Lord tells Sr. Marie to ask His Father for as many souls as was the number of drops of His Precious Blood that He shed during His Passion! This is a tremendous Christmas gift that we can give in return to our Heavenly Father – calling upon all of these remedies for souls – for His matchless gift of His only begotten Son for us when He became man.
    4. What consolation our Lord describes in carrying our daily Cross for love of Him and through our prayers – precisely that this is another efficacious method of saving souls. Jesus calls His Holy Cross His bed of pain. Servant of God Catherine Doherty spoke about nailing ourselves to the other side of it when we unite our sufferings to His. Is it not true that the reality of the Crosses we bear can seem much more pronounced at this time of year? Let us with even greater love & zeal strive to daily pick them up knowing that He ALWAYS keeps His promises. Our Lord is trustworthy, meaning worthy of our trust.
    5. Finally, our Saviour speaks about the special wall of protection that we can build through prayer for the protection and salvation of our country, offered to the Eternal Father in honor of all the Sacred Mysteries of His life and death. Perhaps, an interesting New Year’s Resolution to make for 2024 could be to offer this prayer (prayer link) whenever we are feeling particularly down in the dumps about the state of affairs in our own countries. Let us not sit idle, we CAN do something to re-orientate our topsy turvy world – pray this incredible prayer as if everything depends on us, trusting that our Lord will do everything to fight this battle for us in our times & has already triumphed from His Holy Cross. We can just pray, then sit back and smile! He literally has the whole world in His loving Hands.

A very Mary Christ-Mass to you & your families. May the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, & Joseph obtain for you many unexpected blessings in 2024!

  • The Big year, Is a movie about Birders competing for the Birder of the Year Title.  My oldest son is an avid birder, and has passed along to me his love for Birds especially rare birds. He also has a great love for souls. So it got me reflecting on “What is my Soul Count for 2023”. How Many souls did I witness to for Christ?  Looking back, I don’t think I would have won any prizes, Ouch! Sorry Lord! By my nature I’m an Introvert but that is feeble excuse or an attempt to validate my lack of witness.  There are so many ways in which we can bring souls to Christ and the first and foremost, before witnessing is praying for Souls. Pick a soul each new day and pray of them.  Pick a friend or family member and just offer up a Hail Mary, a chaplet of Divine Mercy, a chaplet of the Holy Face or any other prayer that comes from your heart. Incidentally since beginning the devotion to the Holy Face , my love for souls has really increased and one of the promises our Lord is as follows:

“By My Holy Face you will obtain the conversion of many sinners. Nothing that you ask in making this offering will be refused to you. If you knew how pleasing the sight of My Face is to My Father!” (November 22nd , 1846 the Golden Arrow p182)

This is such an important statement from our Lord to keep in mind. So lets pray for soul per day. But don’t stop with just one soul; see a stranger on the streets, in the grocery store, the mall or anywhere offer up a prayer for them. What about the homeless man or a drugged out teenager that you encountered during the day. Pray for them that is what we are called to do. I am the first to admit I don’t do this enough, but from this day forward, I’m going to try harder, and do you know what? This new year – 2024 is going to be my “Big Year”.  God bless you and I’m hoping you will all take up the challenge for your 2024 to be “The Big Year” to win souls for Christ!

“Ostende Domine Faciem tuam, et salvi erimus”!

Show us thy face O Lord, and we shall be saved!

The little pilgrim of the Holy Face.

  • Our society today is obsessed with the need to stay young looking, and to do so we will do almost anything in desperation. We get face lifts and tummy tucks , Botox shots and apply layers upon layers of makeup etc… no expense is spared in purchasing all kinds of endless propaganda products. But really, to no avail, as we cannot prevent the inevitable, we cannot stop the aging process. It is a fact, and we need to accept it, that is all. I do not think our Lord wants us to dwell so much on our outward appearance as He wants us to concentrate on the inside. In fact, He actually provides us with the solution to looking younger! I firmly believe so! When we spend time in adoration of our Lord in the most Holy Eucharist, He changes us both internally and externally (please see my previous reflection on photosynthesis). Okay, so I cannot actually prove it scientifically, but I can tell you what I have witnessed firsthand, and even our pastor has mentioned this phenomena in his homilies. The most beautiful women/men in the world are those that have just come out of adoration with our Lord, whether they are 18 years old or 90! When a woman or man has spent time with Him, they have this incredible glow afterwards. It is like the aura of the Holy Spirit has just transformed them, causing them to exude a brilliant glow, just like the Transfiguration of Jesus on Mount Tabor. Furthermore, the more time we spend with the Lord in this Face time with His Holy Presence, the more He is changing us on the inside. It is akin to a Holy Face Lift that exudes outwardly from what is happening within. If you cannot make it to a Holy Hour, you can still practice His Presence right in your own home (although there is no substitute for being in His real Presence in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament), by having a special place set aside with a holy image of Him. Just spend time contemplating His Passion, Death and Resurrection. He will transform you as St. Paul attests in 2 Corinthians 3:18, “But we all, beholding the glory of the Lord with open face, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, as by the Spirit of the Lord.” So, what do you have to lose? Why not get a free Holy Face lift today by simply spending time with the Lord?

  • There is a prayer in the Archconfraternity Manual of the Holy Face it is called “Act of Reparation” just before the St. Augustine Prayer. When I read this prayer I was really struck by the Language in particular in the second paragraph . There is the following line

“It is for us, faithful Christians, to close our ranks under the banner of the Holy Face, to multiply our phalanx of reparation, to offer to Jesus, as did Veronica, the veil of our love and of our veneration. “

The use of the word Phalanx blew me away . The traditional meaning is like a army of soldiers shoulder to shoulder with shields together and spears held up . It was a formation invented by the Greeks to be an impenetrable line of defense. However, because I work in the design of Navy ships it has a slightly different meaning to me. A lot of of the ships I worked on had a gun on the Fore and Aft of the ship called a Phalanx gun . Also known as a Close in weapons system. It is designed to shoot approx. 3000 rounds per minute and literally will shred to pieces an incoming missiles or aircraft . So I got thinking that our prayers of reparation are just like that; as a united front against the enemies of God we shred to pieces all their attacks .

The Armada of The Holy Face

The Armada of the Holy Face sails with pride,
With archers onboard and God on their side,

A Golden Arrow pierces into the skies,
Up to the flaming Sacred Heart it flies,

A reparation for sin, for God’s Heart to delight,
And a duty for us to honour Him and fight,

Arise O Lord and scatter all thy foes,
As the Holy devotion grows and grows,

The time is now throughout all the ages,
The Holy Face shall be in history’s pages,

Armada of the Holy Face, beacon so bright,
Will now go into battle, to win the fight.

So let us place ourselves onboard the Armada of the Holy Face as Phalanx guns to be used at our Lords discretion , to obliterate the attacks of the devil and his evil minions to fortify the Church from all the attacks from all the evil ISM’s of the world . United under the Banner of the Holy Face we fight to restore the sacredness of God’s most Holy Name and reverence to His Commandments!

  • A Holy Face miracle just happened this morning. We had about 4 – 5 inches of heavy wet snow last night and we live out in the country, so you either need a plow or a snow blower to clear the snow away . Our laneway is over 200 feet long and very wide at the top, so not something you really want to do by hand. So I use an ATV with a plow attachment. Anyway, I was just about finished plowing when my ATV started making really weird noises . I thought “Oh no, my engine is going to seize or something really bad”! I stopped the plow waiting a few seconds then started it back up . Same thing – it was making really loud whirring noise . So, I shut it off and started praying to God, “Lord you promised that through your Holy Face You would work miracles”. I kept praying, and in the meantime, I moved the car so that I could finish plowing. Then, I asked my wife to pray with me. Together, we invoked God the Eternal Father to fix our plow. Joanne remembered that one of the promises of the Holy Face Devotion was that our Lord would look after all our household needs . Well, this was a huge need, with winter just beginning. So, we asked the Lord to please repair the ATV. Surrendering it over and trusting in Him, I promised that I would post this miracle. Well, low and behold, when I went back and started it up, it was purring like a kitten. Praise be to God! I finished the remainder of the plowing and the ATV was operating as it should. So, dear brothers and sisters in Christ, trust in the Lord and take up the Holy Face Devotion! May the Lord’s Face look upon you and grant you peace.

  • I am really interested in how God uses dates. I love how things coincide within the Holy Face devotion, I find it amazing. Such as the publication of Marx’s Communist Manifesto and the public miracle on the veil of Saint Veronica in 1849. Also, how May 13th is so significant, for example, Fatima and the traditional day of the public display of the Veil of Veronica.

Today, I was thinking about the Shroud and the photographer who developed the photograph in 1898. I was thinking about why Jesus revealed His very own image to us. I thought to myself, I bet there is a hidden reason why He chose His image to be revealed at this particular time, in this particular year. I started researching and discovered that in 1898, the year Jesus revealed Himself in the Shroud is the same year the Russian Communist Party formed, (although originally they were called the Social Democratic Labour Party). So, 1898 was the year the gears were set in motion to foment the Russian Communist Revolution.

I got this down to an 8 week period from the photo being taken to the party being formed. I bet I would find much stronger correlations with dates if I dug deeper. It’s also the year of the Spanish-American war, and some believe this directly led to a political situation in Cuba that was conducive to the country being set up as a Communist State.

What is interesting is that Communism is all about the cult of the face. I recall watching a documentary many years ago, it described how communists use what they referred to as “the cult of the face”, meaning the constant bombardment of images of the dictator’s face. This involves the use of massive images of the dictator’s face, which are displayed across the country, on billboards, public buildings, and just about everywhere else. They are usually dressed in military attire to project authority and fear. This is exactly what happened in Russia with images of Lenin’s face being posted everywhere, and later, Stalin’s face was everywhere for all the Russian people to see. We see it in China and all other communist dictatorships. The cult of the face is a psychological tool used on the masses.

    So, to summarise:

1898 was the year the Communists revealed their face in Russia.

1898 was the year Jesus revealed His Face to the entire world!

    What do you think?

    1898 was an interesting year.
