Revelation November 18, 1843

ONE DAY during prayer, Our Lord warned me in advance about the fury of Satan against this holy devotion, but He also consoled me, saying:  “I give you My Name to be your light in the darkness and your strength in battle. Satan will do all in his power to crush this Work at its roots. But I assure you that the Holy Name of God will triumph, and it will be the Holy Angels who will gain the victory in the conflict.”

How powerful is the Holy Name of God, thrice holy!!! Don’t we need to remember to utter His Name often, both in good times, and in the not so good – to have it continuously on our lips? The Golden Arrow Prayer so beautifully extols our Lord’s Holy Name, and as was revealed by Him to Sr. Marie de St. Pierre – joyfully wounds His Most Sacred Heart. What an encouragement to pray this most incredible prayer!

This revelation reminds us of the continuous battle going on in the spiritual realm, between the magnificent nine choirs of angels and old sparky and his nefarious band. The work of Reparation had its very beginnings, its roots in Tours, and we see that it indeed became a forgotten devotion after the World Wars in the first half of the 20th century. Today, as we are happily witnessing a resurgence of this timely devotion, the brand new roots that we are all endeavouring to plant will again be met with much resistance, indifference and obstacles of all sorts. But, this is no reason for discouragement dear friends. St. Ignatius of Loyola said something to the effect that discouragement never comes from God, because it clouds faith and hope. So, let us press on, lifting up our praises of the Holy Name of God each and every day through the Golden Arrow prayer, sending up our arrows of love to bolster the holy angels in their fight on our behalf! How admirable is the Holy Name of God!
